2012 UGC Kickoff Dinner Event – All Aboard the USS Midway!
The USS Midway is one of the longest serving aircraft carriers in United States Naval history. Decommissioned in 1991 and converted to a Naval Maritime Museum, it is one of San Diego’s top attractions. Deccan will host the UGC Kickoff Dinner aboard the Midway on the evening of Wednesday, August 22nd, complete with networking, exceptional food, flight simulators, and docent lead tours of the ship. A short waterfront walk from the hotel, this venue will offer spectacular views of the San Diego skyline and harbor. Watch the sun set over Point Loma, and check out the flight deck’s vintage aircraft exhibits.

With 47 years of service, the Midway has many stories to tell. Midway docents are the voice of the ship’s historic past, and will take you on a voyage through time as they describe life on this “city at sea” and its remarkable engineering and construction. - Flight simulators
Experience the thrill of flying a fighter jet inside an F-18 Hornet stationary cockpit with 180 degrees of visual and surround sound system. Practice general flying and landing on the USS Constellation, or compete in head-to-head combat with your colleague in the adjacent simulator! For an even more pulse-pounding experience, try out the Strike Fighter 360 simulator, where you dip, roll, and spin on every axis of your flight path in an enclosed cockpit pod. - Tasty food & networking
